9.2 Z-Test to Compare Two Population Means: Independent Samples
Who gets better grades: males or females? A randomly selected sample of 61 female students had an average college gpa of 3.08 points with a standard deviation of 0.32 points. A randomly selected sample of 64 male students had an average college gpa of 2.9 points with a standard deviation of 0.34 points. Use a 5% significance level and the p-value method to test the claim that there is a difference between the average gpas of male and female students.
