Hi,

I found an error in the homework. This is from chapter 4 problem number 11. The answer should be -.50. I worked it a few times as the answer listed shows -.17. I checked a problem from stats professor that matched. -.17 is not correct.

Hi Julie,

The answer for this problem is -0.17. There is a video which shows how the problem is done in great detail. I have posted it below. You said you checked the video from our site, but in that video it shows the answer is -0.17. Perhaps you are confusing this problem with the example from the lecture notes. That example is not the same because the player loses $6 when he/she rolls a six. In this example, they only lose $4 when they roll a six.
