QUESTION 1 of 6

Good Afternoon Mr. McGuckian,

I have a question, in the tests to compare population means, how do I know when should I use the critical value method or the P-value method?... Will it always be stated in the problem? or there are other cues that would indicate me to use either one of the two?

Thank You Very Much

Hi there Profe!
On Ch.8-#33: Why do we Reject the null? The P-value is 4.1%, which is > the alpha at 4%.
I thought we only reject when P-value is < alpha. Let me know, thanks!!

QUESTION 3 of 6

Hi Professor!
I have a simple question, that I got stuck on, I have watched stats professor (the video) and I understand what I needed to do for Sect. 8.4 #30 but I don't understand why? to get the P-value I was under the impression you would subtract 0.50 minus the shaded area on the Z-table? but in that problem we added the amount to 0.50. why did we do that ?

QUESTION 4 of 6

Hello, Can you please do a video on number 30 from the chapter 8.4 Homework. The test stat was 1.58 and it was a left side test. We look at the Z-table under 1.58 and get .4429, so the P-value would be .5-.4429 =.0571?? in the video i saw that you did both sides of the curve rather then one in like all the other examples can you explain why please?
